A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INCREASE TO SS 17-152 WEDECO UV SYSTEMS, BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOISE CITY (PUBLIC WORKS) AND XYLEM WATER SOLUTIONS USA, INC.; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Body

              WHEREAS, WEDECO UV Systems is the standard for the West Boise Water Renewal Facility; and,

 

              WHEREAS, Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. is the only supplier of certified replacement and spare parts for the existing sytems; and,

 

              WHEREAS, Notice of Publication of Sole Source Procurement was published in the Idaho Statesman on December 23, 2016; and,

 

                            WHEREAS, Finance and Administration and Public Works Department staff recommend approval of an increase to SS 17-152, WEDECO UV Systems, from Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., not to exceed $125,000.00; and,

 

                            WHEREAS, during their meeting of January 10, 2017, the City Council followed staff recommendation and awarded Resolution No. RES-24-7, to Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. for the amount not to exceed $80,000.00; and,

 

                            WHEREAS, this increase is for the purchase of additional ballasts; and,

 

                            WHEREAS, the above-described increase requested results from a changed or previously unknown condition and staff believe that it is in the best interest of the City to increase the sole source an additional $45,000.00 to Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc.

                           

                            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOISE CITY, IDAHO:

 

              Section 1.  That an increase to SS 17-152, WEDECO UV Systems, between the city of Boise City and Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., not to exceed $125,000.00, is hereby approved.

 

Section 2.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption and approval.
